its silly to not have at least 3 player for how large these games are. Better to have any option to play 3-4 campaign than nothing at all. Simultaneous turns is development work CA would rather not do. You know what you're in for if you want to play with several peeps, and if you don't want to deal with it then don't, noone's forcing you to play multiplayer campaign. People have been hotseating rome 1 with 5-10+ players for decades, think about how tedious that was, but people still did it all the same because they wanted to. They don't really need to add anything to make it work.
